Since the fonts were usually designed for a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio and the IIgs really has a 5:12 ratio (in 640 mode), a 50% vertical reduction results in a 5:6 ratio, which is a lot closer to square. "Condensed" is actually a signal to some printer drivers (LaserWriter included) to print the text "normally." I know that Medley 2.0 (when released) will stretch all your artwork on the screen when you select condensed printing, so you have full, stretched control over it on the screen yet it comes out "normally" on paper. I think AWGS has capabilities to handle condensed printing as well. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Deatherage, Apple Computer, Inc. | "The opinions expressed in this tome Send PERSONAL mail ONLY (please) to: | should not be construed to imply that AppleLink PE: Matt DTS GEnie: AIIDTS | Apple Computer, Inc., or any of its CompuServe: 76703,3030 | subsidiaries, in whole or in part, Usenet: mattd@apple.com | have any opinion on any subject."
