System software is copyrighted and commercial. Mail order houses probably will NOT carry it at all (do they carry System 4?). Although it was announced at AppleFest (and some beta versions were around for display purposes), Apple hasn't announced an availablility date. Some rumors say August, but your dealers' estimate of September is probably reasonable. If you keep reading this list, you're likely to know within hours of official release. Don't look for it on AppleLink, if somone mails you a copy it's likely to be one of the beta versions that was "liberated" at Applefest (known to have bugs that can do wonderful things like scramble the file directories on your hard disk).
