Upon installation, it comes up with a NON MEDIA ERROR XX, which happens when it is trying to write the paramater block onto the hard drive as the very last step in initializing the drive. The manual isn't very comprehensive - it doesn't even mention error codes. However, things get interesting. When I installed a First Class 10 Meg sider about two years ago, I got very familiar with the 'look & feel' of their HD utilities. The Datamac utilities look like a previous version of these utilities. IS DATAMAC A PREDICESOR (sp) OF FIRST CLASS PERIPHERALS??? Additionally, is there a workaround to the paramater block problem? Help is appreciated...else we have a doorstop with a cord... (heavy doorstop) --Chan kodali@portia.stanford.edu
