First, load up your ARC program (like you said you did in your message).

There are certain commands that ARC uses to unarc files etc.

Here is a list of them (most of them)

ARC/X filename    -unarc file
ARC/L filename    -list files in an archive
ARC/a filename.arc filenam1 filename1
                  - arc a file (filename.arc is the name
                                of the file to be created,
                                filename1 and 2 (3,4 etc) are
                                the names of the files to be
                                included in the archive)
