A friend of mine has a problem with the 8250 com chips. It appears that the chip will reset sometimes when the machine is running for no apparent reason. He wrote a small prog that verfies this, monitoring the chip. He is certain the reset input to the 8250 is not being changed. He called a manufacturer whose rep said there are various versions of the 8250 with various bugs, one of them being that, with a certain combination of chip select and address line inputs to the 8250 will cause it to reset. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks! ...Gord (gord@geac)
