Message-ID: <1989Jul13.113515.14216@jarvis.csri.toronto.edu> Organization: University of Toronto, CSRI I just bought an AT at a great price in Toronto. When I ordered it, the dealer said he would "install" MS-DOS 3.3 onto my hard disk for me. "Gee," I thought, "how nice of him to take care of that for me..." Then I get home and there's no manuals. I call the dealer. He says stuff like "well, you know, Microsoft is clamping down, you know [I could nearly see the 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more' over the phone]", implying I should be *grateful* that's he's been nice in installing a pirated copy of MS-DOS on my new machine. Anyway, I'm not posting to complain about piracy (however if anyone at Microsoft is listening, email me if you want details). I'd prefer to have a legitimate copy, so now I'd like to know what the differences between 3.3 and 4.0 are. At the very least, I'll be buying 3.3 some time soon, but if 4.0 has any significant enhancements, I'd like to know. Thanks, -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Open the pod bay doors, HAL." "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
