It worked fine. Norton SI (version 3.0 those days) gave index 1.6 with V20 (1.0 without), but that didn't mean 60% increase of performance in average applications... At the assembly language level the V20 is much faster at MUL & DIV (at least 10 times faster!!!) Shiftinstructions (V20 contains a barrelshifter which is FAST) Memory moves (REP MOVSW moved more than twice as fast on my system) Later on I replaced the V20 with a 8MHz 286 Turbo card (from Personal Computer Support Group, PCSG), and that even outperformed some real 8MHz AT systems...
