My PS/2 Model 50 has developed some problems, and I was hoping someone in 
net.land could offer advice about what to do.  The IBM 8513 Monochrome
display on it works with other computers, and the IBM keyboard appears
to be okay (I have no way of confirming this.)  The last time I used
it, the 20 Meg HD and 1.44 Meg floppy drive both worked fine.

When I turn on the power, the fan starts up, the speaker clicks (good
news, yes?) and the hard drive emits the usual startup sounds.  However,
numbers (the usual "128K...256K...384K...") do not appear on the
screen and absolutely nothing else happens; the speaker does not emit
any beeps and none of the drive lights come on.

The IBM repair manual says "Have the unit repaired."  Mucho Gracias, IBM.
Other advice includes "Reseat the chips", "Check the connections" (already
done), "Reinsert any cards", "Call IBM" (I dont know the number).

Anyone with any advice is strongly urged to mail it to me or post it
in comp.sys.ibm.pc.
