I get an error message (``restricted operation on read-only file
system'') in Ultrix 3.0 when I attempt to access("my-file-name", F_OK)
a file that exists on an NFS mounted file system being exported by a
Sun running SunOS 4.0.1.

This also happened in an earlier release of Ultrix, but does not happen
on our Suns.

Any clues?
