Summary: What do I do now? Message-ID: <8616@attctc.DALLAS.TX.US> Date: 11 Jul 89 14:19:46 GMT Reply-To: nasa@attctc.Dallas.TX.US (Daniel Poirot) Organization: The Unix(R) Connection BBS, Dallas, Tx Lines: 29 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have some questions about the XTROFF package. I have the most recent version (patchlevel 6) off of expo and it really looks good. I am using a VAX 780 that has a troff package called 'xroff' from an outfit called IMAGE NETWORK. The software is setup to drive a DEC LN03 laser. We are in the process of upgrading the software to include drivers for PostScript printers, and I would like to be able to use 'xtroff' for both printers. Now that we have Adobe fonts in X11.3, what do I need to get xtroff to use the X fonts? The documentation talks about a DESC.out file that describes the fonts. Where does this come from? The IMAGE NETWORK stuff doesn't talk about anything like that, so I don't think I can get xtroff to work using their LN03 fonts. Where do I go from here? I would like to at least be able to run xtroff on the sample 'xtroff.tr' file using the Adobe fonts. Do I have everything required? I understand that the LN03 fonts may not be compatible. I would apprecate any assistance and will summarize to the net if any interest is shown. Thanks, Daniel Poirot nasa@attctc.Dallas.TX.US Lockheed C87 phone 713/483-2426 2400 Nasa Rd. 1 phax 713/483-6120 Houston, TX 77536 "A mind is a terrible thing."
