The Purdue speedups (expo.lcs.mit.edu:contrib/Purdue.2.[01]-tar.Z) are for the monochrome framebuffer code, so they may not help much if your 4/110 has only a color monitor. If it has a cgfour, use the Purdue speedups because at least they'll help on the monochrome side - that's what I'm using now.
