Page 102 of MIPS for August '89 contains a full-page sidebar about
"Project GNU" in an article about the future of Unix and the different
variants thereof.  Simson Garfinkel, ex of the Media Lab, wrote it.
It's worth having around as a good introduction to the project, what
it has accomplished, and where it [we] intend to go.  He quotes Len
Tower, Donn Seeley, and Richard Chassell.

The article is copyright by Computer Metrics, Inc. or it might be
worth posting.
