Are there solutions to the following using default (non-customized) emacs? 1) How can I display byte n of the current line at column 1 of the current window (assuming of course that n >= current window width) ? 2) After scrolling windows horizontally, is there a quick default way to put the window back to its non-scrolled position? Supplying an argument to the sequence ^x< or ^x> doesn't seem to work. I will summarize if emailed solutions. -- My other .sig is also useless
