The MIPS Performance Brief, version 3.8, contains 15 or so benchmark values for a variety of machines. About 8 of the tables include values for both 4.3bsd cc and gcc1.31 (running on 4.3bsd) for the VAX 780. Send a snail-mail address to mash@mips.com for a copy. I once tried to organize an effort to collect gcc vs. cc results on a variety of machines for our benchmark suite, but I ran out of steam before I got tapes to the people that volunteered. Oh well. -- UUCP: {ames, decwrl, prls, pyramid}!mips!earl USPS: MIPS Computer Systems, 930 Arques Ave, Sunnyvale CA, 94086
