All the other files seem to be |intact, but I haven't check closely. I don't have turbo C so I can't |make a new copy myself. Could some one please mail me a copy of |gs.exe that is known to work. I really don't want to take time to |download the whole thing from scratch. gs.exe should be 192356 bytes, UTek's sum(1) gives "61235 188". If you think your version of the binary is corrupted, you can get a fresh copy from illian without having to also get the sources. (See previous articles for info on how to get stuff from illian.) Daryl reports that he tried it on two msdos machines, on one it came up, set the screen to white and printed the GS> prompt. On the other machine it hung, and the machine had to be reset. The file make.doc talks about options for building for various machines (286 vs 386, fpu, etc). I suspect that the binary provided in the release is for a 386 machine (which is what Peter uses) and won't run on other machines. If I'm right, someone may wish to build a 'lowest common denominator' binary and make it available. _____ .-----. /_____\ Snoopy ./ RIP \. /_______\ qiclab!sopwith!snoopy | | |___| parsely!sopwith!snoopy | tekecs | |___| sun!nosun!illian!sopwith!snoopy |_________| "I *was* the next man!" -Indy
