Regrettably there is no clear method to get groups renamed. In particular, Tim Lee's notion of creating : soc.culture.china.mainland soc.culture.china.taiwan soc.culture.china.hongkong makes a lot of sense. Of course, the group talk.politics.china is also clearly needed since the discussions existing in soc.culture.china are 70% or more political rather than cultural. One of the mistakes in creating soc.culture.china was in making it unmoderated. It needs some moderation just to try to keep the purely political debate out so that some cultural discussions could survive. Now I apologise if you feel I've said enough previously, but I am hoping that some bright net person will come up with a means to salvage this situation. If soc.culture.taiwan and soc.culture.hongkong get created then this is only going to get worse.
