But many have rigorous criteria for publication -- even acknowledged leaders in a given field can find themselves forced to rewrite or to submit to another periodical. Also, the unofficial penalties for phony articles are steep. So while an academician might get an occasional fluff piece published, or might rework the same piece from several different angles for several different mags (an article on the behavioral ecology of the spinal cord injured might legitimately be published in periodicals related to: psychology, rehabilitation medicine, nursing, and architecture, and possibly others), it is definitely *not* wise for him/her to submit false reports or to frequently submit junk.
