The genetic sequence search programs at the PSC are from the Kanehisa IDEAS package, with some routines modified by Dan Davison. The programs are: seqh - local (substring) alignment between two sequences seqf - GenBank library search sp - PIR (new format) library search snu - GenBank library search, 50% faster than seqf st - translated GenBank search (three frames) spr - Protein sequence search by amino acid function (e.g. charge) Additionally, several RNA folding programs are available as well as the UWGCG suite of programs for general sequence manipulation. Contact Dr. Hugh Nicholas, Scientific Consultant, at nicholas@a.psc.edu (Internet), NICHOLAS@CPWPSCA (BITNET), or telephone at: (412) 268-5130 for further information on this program. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
