It is so close to what 10BaseT will be (whatever it turns out to be) that there is no question that it now works like 10BaseT will, except that conformance must be more exact to guarantee interoperability. You may wish to wait for 10BaseT compliant hardware, but rest assured that it will work when you buy it, at least if you buy Cabletron.
