Help please!

I thought that perchance this was a good newsgroup to ask for help in.  I'm 
sitting here _trying_ to get my trusty Kaypro 10 to talk to it's serial 
interface.  The Superterm program seems to have no problem, (2400 8N1), but 
whenever I try to access the port from pip, basic (m,c,s,&o), or bdos calls, 
the machine sits there and hangs.  I even tried going directly to the Z80 SIO 
chip... with null results.....

Any suggestions?
