Thanks for all the support for the Minix ST 1.2 version. I've received enough applications for beta testers. Beta testers: I'll send you a message somewhere around the weekend. I also got a mail from Johan Stevenson to say that it was ok for me to post the stuff. However I should warn the net that this is a semi official release (which perhaps will never be available from PH), and that he reserves all rights to deviate from my postings for the official release (if and when it is created). I have not spent much time lately on 1.2 due to unexpected but happy family circumstances. Also I'm having problems with my hard disk. (Anyone experience with a Micropolis 1355 or an Adaptec 4520 or both, in combination with an ST?). As soon as the hard disk problems are solved I can work on 1.2. I've received a suggestion from Glen Overby on how to distribute the stuff. I have decided to use a similar distribution scheme as he proposes, but with slight modifications. The whole stuff will be split into a number of parts: - complete files not ST specific - complete files ST specific - diffs to get to ST 1.2 I intend to make such a separation for each component (fs, kernel, mm, lib, commands, sttools, tests) I'm not sure whether I should post the files which are equivalent to the PC 1.3 version. What does the net think? I will get make the stuff as close to 1.3 as possible, together with some ST specific kernel stuff. After 1.3, I'll get to 1.4a (or b?) as soon as possible. There are a few bug fixes (e.g. in FS) which are needed to get the serial driver running. I've not decided whether they will be in the 1.4a or the 1.3 version. I am inclined to the first, in order to get as compatible as possible, but I'm open to your suggestions.
