If anybody told you you'd get developer-level documentation from your dealer, they were wrong. APDA had developer documentation for 4.0, and they will have it for 5.0. GS/OS Reference Volumes 1 and 2 are available from APDA--this covers drivers and OMF filetypes, among other things.
