Ok,ok, I know this is a dumb question but....

   A friend (?) told me that Atari is going to come out with a multi-tasking
version of TOS. I personally think this is a bunch of ca-ca but the idea
intrigues me enough to risk embarrassment and ask. IS ATARI GOING TO COME OUT
WITH A MULTI TASKING VERSION OF TOS?
          
                   or a more reasonable question...
 
    Is there any type of multi tasking done on the ST (besides minix,mx2)? 
someone posted a couple of weeks ago about seeing a multi-tasking kernal
written on of all things a C-64 in basic. Can this be done in say GFA basic?

  I know that with all the problems Atari had with TOS 1.4 that they probably
would not think of doing something as big as a MULTI-TOS(besides probable loss
of downward compatibility) but some kind of multi-tasking would be great.
