When I purchased my 520ST three (?) years ago,  the local shop I bought
it from was in the process of going out of business, and gave me a great
deal on a 520ST with a monitor/drive unit called the

   PS3000

When I discovered later that there were drive problems,  I took it in
to an authorized Atari dealer and they were stumped by this unit.
They had to call Atari to figure out how to remove the drive from the
monitor.

I was then informed that this was a beta unit and that I should have
*never* received it and it was probably illegally obtained (the plot
thickens  :-)

Anyone in net-land who has heard of this and is interested in responding,
I would apprieciate it.
