The drives are on a converted 64000 box. The lif* stuff takes FOREVER! A lifls takes about 96 seconds, of which maybe the drive runs 0.25 sec. If root, a "nice --19" will get it down to about 45 sec. The box is a 9000/360 running HPUX 6.2. There's nothing else going on in the system. What IS going on? Forever grateful, etc, etc, cris
