Message-ID: <5466@oregon.uoregon.edu> Date: 18 Jul 89 22:44:34 GMT Organization: University of Oregon Lines: 20 I'm interested in finding a basic ASCII text editor for little or no $$$. I'd like it to be current enough to maintain basic keystroke compatability with most modern word processors, (ie. pressing RET at the beginning of a line to insert a line, pressing DEL to delete at the cursor, pressing BKSP to delete to the left). I'd also like it to use as little memory as possible. (Guess I don't want too much :-) I'm interested in obtaining more than a few copies. TED is only licensed for personal use, QEDIT is groovy, but I'd like to pay less than $39 per copy, (ouch! cheap guy!), and FRED is a little too ancient. Is this kind of thing out there, or am I expecting a free lunch? If I have to, I'll just go with QEDIT. Thanks to one and all, Rick Gates RGATES@OREGON or RGATES@OREGON.UOREGON.EDU
