Whenever my VGA monitor changes modes from a graphics mode to a text
mode, the text image on the screen appears, starts to jiggle, then
reappears.  The whole process takes about 1 full second and is annoying.

It is a multisync monitor and I think it is just adjusting to a new
sync rate, though I have never heard of this.  Is there something
wrong with either my monitor or VGA card or is this normal behavior.
