the new Segate reseller report gives the st4096 mfm drive had a MTBF of 
30k and now is updated to 40,000 hours and the ST296 SCSI drive had a 
MTFB of 45k now has one of 70,000 hours  I have one of the ST296 drives 
in my 20mhz 386 and i like it but the transfer rate isn't up to the 
specs I only get 598kps or so not the rated amount   WAC
