In other words, normally, screen fonts have a resolution of 72 dots per inch. 2X fonts, scaled down, have a printed resolution of 144 dpi. The Imagewriter LQ, in Best mode, uses 3X fonts and scales them down to a third. E.g., to Print 24-pt characters, you'd need a 72-pt size of the same font. The printed image (LQ) will be 24-pt characters, but with a resolution of 216 dpi. The Apple Laserwriters have a resolution of 300 dpi, so this may give you some idea of the quality of the LQ. (about half-way between IW II best mode and LaserWriter output). As for speeds, I'm not really sure, but I think that in printer draft mode, the IW II, is about 180 char per sec., and the LQ might be about 300 cps. Hope this helps, Jeff
