Here is what I have and what I did: [various details about problem deleted] I have also had a problem with hierDA .9984. It seems to conflict with Windows 2.0, the cdev that puts a Windows menu on your menubar, and allows you to switch between windows at will. I am using a MacII with 2M of memory, and hierDA (DA menuz) and Windows 2.0 loaded. To demonstrate the problem, load any application (I am currently using just Finder and not Multifinder). Now, click on the desktop to bring up the menus (same as menu bar). Move down the menu to the "Windows" entry. Bomb. I can re-create this 100% of the time. I'm not sure which of these (hierDA or Windows 2.0) is the culprit, but it WOULD be interesting to know. Removing Windows 2.0 "solves" the problem, but if it is not possible to determine which one is causing the problem, I'm not sure I want to use either of them. Of course, I may be entirely on the wrong track, since I use various other cdevs and INITs, however, I made sure I was not violating anything listed in the help file that comes with hierDA.
