Does anyone know how to read 9-track magnetic reel tapes on a SUN 3 or SUN
4 class machine under SUN OS 4.x?  Can it be done using utilities from the
SUN distribution?   Are there public-domain programs available?

Some of the tapes will need to be in IBM Interchange format.  Other tapes
will be in various vendor-specific formats.  Are there any utilities out
there that make this task easy?  Pointers to commercial products are also
welcomed.

I try to follow the newsgroups to which this message is posted, but a
