This machine was heralded by Sun as the NeXT killer. And so here is my question to those of you who have the good fortune of working with both machines: Has SparcStation-1 killed NeXT? It is particularly interesting to compare the two as software development machines: cpu(8Mb)+mouse+BW monitor+laserwriter+harddisk(300Mb)+OS+standard software. So which one would you buy for your own personal machine? (For price comparisons use academic prices for NeXT and a typical academic discount on Sun hardware of 35%.
