Brown) Newsgroups: comp.terminals,comp.sys.ibm.pc Subject: Need termcap entry for IBM-AT ANSI.SYS Keywords: termcap ansi Message-ID: <512@morgoth.UUCP> Date: 19 Jul 89 22:10:54 GMT Organization: Goldberg-Zoino and Assoc., Newton, MA Lines: 31 Here's the set-up: Michada 286 running PC-NFS (v. 3.0 ?) over thin ethernet to a sun 3/60 with Sun/OS 3.5 Here's the problem: The VT-100 emulator in telnet handles screen updates perfectly well. However, it steals many, many keys from me, e.g., by masking the high bit. A solution: Run PC-NFS without terminal emulation. Unfortunately, programs like GNU Emacs won't run because my terminal is now too dumb. What I need: A termcap entry for the ANSI standard (ANSI.SYS device driver).
