OK, hackers, help me out...
I need to run a bunch of different non-windows applications using windows
as a shell.
--With MSWindows, version NON-386, level 2.10, OLD applications, what really
..happens for program-memory allocation? 
----?? KB Required= _n_ or _640_ 
----?? KB Desired= _-1_ or _0_ or _n_ 
----?? Directly Modifies Screen= _yes_ or _no_ 
----?? Screen Exchange= _none_ or other 
----?? HIMEM.SYS used or not 
-- What is the order of precedence in determining what happens? 
-- What are valid combinations? 
-- What _does_ happen for each valid combination? 
 
And, miscellaneously, in WIN.INI, using Swapdisk=e: (no expanded mem), for 
Swapsize=, does it make any difference whether or not the _K_ is on the end? 
Is =2048 the same as =2048K? 
 
Does _anyone_ understand this process?
