    I don't think that anyone outside of DEC knows enough about how the
    DECstation 3100 frame buffer (pm) to be able to write an X server.
    Maybe there will be one in 11R4.

Yes, there will be, both monochrome and color (cfb is actually tolerable on a
machine that fast!).  Digital has supplied us with the relatively few lines of
code it takes to set up the devices.
