prologue:
X is great, and we use it whenever we can, but we've got a few (okay a lot)
of character terminals sitting around that need to be hooked into a distrib-
uted application.

my question is: has anyone ever tried (and succeeded) basing a windowing system
on curses using remote procedure calls?? An X implementation using curses
would probably be brain-damaged indeed, but also just what we need :-))
