All versions of X since V9R4 have compiled and run fine on the Convex. Convex supports X11 for a small fee as a product called CX. We did find that the Convex ethernet packet size is smaller than that in X and undetectected by X. There are three solutions: (1) Don't flush X data larger than 8K bytes at time. (2) Recompile the Convex UNIX kernal for a larger packet. Convex TAC will do this for you. (3) Recompile X for a smaller packet. (I don't off-hand remember the names of the Convex system variable or X variable for the packete size.)
