Nah... I don't think I'll issue a rmgroup.  That might do more than
raise a few eyebrows.

Oh, and a cancel does have an effect on already-processed control messages
(like a newgroup) -- it prevents its further spread.  I think the newgroup
got to you via a quicker route.
