Anke didn't quite express herself clearly enough, and I didn't get the ambiguity of her sentence. - The registry of subdomains of the internet domain ".de" is not administratively linked to the running of EUnet in Germany. There is a nonzero intersection between the staff of both registry and EUnet backbone, which is me. - There have never been any thoughts of charging for registering subdomains of ".de". Definitely it is utterly wrong to think that only EUnet-sites are registered. In fact, the registry is cooperating with all German computer networks (as in "Notable Computer Networks"). Every "legal entity" is entitled to register. regards, Axel
