Message-ID: Date: 20 Jul 89 18:21:25 GMT Sender: news@psuvax1.cs.psu.edu Distribution: news Organization: Penn State University Computer Science Lines: 10 C News/nntp creates mode 0666 files in /usr/spool/news/in.coming. Only mildly disturbing, since they disappear quickly. This is a side effect of umask 0 being passed from init to rc to inetd to nntpd. Entertaining the idea of adding "umask 2" to /etc/rc, but not sure what that will break... Maybe batch.c should look at NEWSUMASK? Hmm.. -- Felix Lee flee@shire.cs.psu.edu *!psuvax1!shire!flee
