Message-ID: <4398@eos.UUCP> Date: 19 Jul 89 19:05:39 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: NASA Ames Research Center, California Lines: 22 I am interested in building a 12 v dc to 120 v ac power inverter. A friend of mine bought one of these for around 75 bucks and used it to run a stereo system off of a car battery at a beach party. It seems like such a thing would be convenient for rigging up a camper and the like... I have only a vague idea of how such a thing might be done: some chokes to step the volatge up, big switching transistors. Anyone care to provide the definitive reference or a simple explanation? thanks for listening, jeff -- Jeff Mulligan (jbm@aurora.arc.nasa.gov) NASA/Ames Research Ctr., Mail Stop 239-3, Moffet Field CA, 94035 (415) 694-6290
