Keywords: CABLE DECODER...??? Message-ID: <2451@iitmax.IIT.EDU> Date: 6 Jul 89 04:07:16 GMT Organization: Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Lines: 22 Over 7 years ago I recall cable companies complaints about a system where individuals could decode cable signals using a special device or decoder. Do these devices still exist? If so, where would one purchase one and / or how would one go about getting one. Also, is it illegal to operate one of these devices? Then if one operates one, can it be traced? Finally in the event cable companies produce a different signal or code, would these decoders then become obsolete or could they decipher any variations the cable companies produce in the signal?
