        PhD STUDENTSHIP

        We have a studentship available from October 1989 for a project
        involving the use of antibodies to assay the antibiotic nisin
        which is used as food preservative, and to study the biosynthesis
        of this unusual peptide antibiotic. This is an AFRC Co-operative
        Award and the work will involve short periods in the laboratories
        of the industrial collaborator.
        Candidates should hold at least an Upper Second degree in
        Microbiology or Biochemistry or a related subject.
