I know that in NPA 212, it used to be: 660 *2 flash flash followed by a high-pitched tone, at which time you'd hang up and get a ringback. I know at our house in Sharon, CT, the ringback is quite strange. You dial your own number, hear a beeping about twice as fast as a reorder, and then you hang up and get a ringback. Sounds like a remnant from party-line service, even though the exchange is ESS. Thanks, -G
