for the IBM-PC, use VPIC version 1.4 or greater.  It can display
uncompressed TARGA 16 files and the when it appears on your VGA (required),
you can press 'G' and save it to disk!

Look for VPIC19.ARC on compuserve or VPIC19.ZIP on other systems.  E-mail
me if you want to get it from me.

Also, RIX VGA paint (COLORIX) will read TARGA 16 images...
