It was all very useful. I now also have a copy of the "dcp" source code which should come in very useful. However, amongst all this info on the uucp protocol one thing was noticeaable by its absence - a description of the protocol used by UKUUCP. As far as I know this encodes the 'g' protocol to allow it to be used over 7,6 and 4 bit lines. being in the UK I would like to try and adapt dcp to support this so that I can talk to machines over 7 bit links.
