Senning) Distribution: usa Organization: Academic Computing Center, University of Va. Lines: 28 I am having a problem using MINIX 1.2 with my Segate ST225 and Western Digital WX-GEN controller. I have the updated xt_wini.c for v1.2 with the Western Digital patches. The low-level format in the ROM says the following: WX2 Format Revision 7.0 (c) Copyright Western Digital Corp. 1985 which makes me think it should work. However, when I try the dd command suggested in USER_GUIDE (a.k.a. READ_ME) I get the error Unrecoverable disk error on device 3/0, block 34 dd: read error 68+0 records in 68+0 records out If I make a file system that is smaller than 30 blocks, it works fine. Does anyone else have a similar controller and a working version of xt_wini.c that they could mail me? I am using an AT&T 6300 on which MINIX works fine except for this hard disk problem. I am also upgrading to v1.3d, but have yet tried it on my disk (it is very difficult to upgrade without a hard disk. Thanks very much to anyone who can help!!!
