Will there be a KIP 12/89(or near)? There are two ways one can think about this question. One is "what is the impact of Appletalk phase II on IPTalk?" (the way Kip encapsulates packets). As near as I can figure out, IPTalk can remain a phase I protocol. The second way is "will KIP be enhanced to allow a KIP router to be a phase II router". I have no input on this issue. I do, however, have the fond fantasy that the commercial products (including ours) will provide enough functionality to allow KIP users to be satisfied with commercial offerrings.
