There are just a couple of problems though. 1: I don't have source to a C version of Metafont. To say that this is a hinderance (esp. considering how slow it can be), is an incredible understatement. I'm begging for C source to this. Surely someone has ported it before... 2: Smaller problem. Is there any such thing as a machine independant preloader? I was just wondering if I could make a version of VIRTEX with PlainTeX already loaded. I would certainly appreciate it if anyone could tell me how I might make preloaded versions of LaTeX and PlainTeX given what I have. John Munsch P.S. If Pat Monardo is out there. Thank you.
