For those who are interested, it does address Kent's objections here... the chapters that are provided group commands by function type, allowing a new-ish user who has some idea what he wants to actually do a pretty good chance of finding the right command. And each option of each command is illustrated by explicit example, here's what you type, here's what you see, here's what it means, and here's WHY you are interested in knowing about it. (And at COMMODORE's request, I even explained the startup- sequence "in English".) The second edition of the Amiga Companion is now available from IDCG publications (an ad in the back of Amiga World since about a month ago) and is soon to be available at your local dealer. They ARE encouraging dealer orders now. (WHEW!) The price for the second edition remains the same as that of the first edition, even though the page count has increased by about 50. First edition purchasers should read the PREFACE for a low-cost update offer. Rob Peck
